"Started" Golden Retrievers for Adoption

Hello from Amber Detwiler! I am a country veterinarian located north of Graymont, Illinois. I chose to raise Golden Retrievers because of their excellent temperaments around families. I have a beautiful family of my own that shares in raising these amazing dogs. In my 17 years in the veterinarian profession, I have had great exposure to many breeds of dogs and I have first hand experience in the health challenges that can be associated with different breeds. This is why I have done extensive health testing as well as DNA testing on my breeding female and male. Testing has also been started on these two amazing puppies. The parents of "Jubilee" and "Jinger" have heart, eye, and elbow OFA clearances. The parents have had Penn Hip tests as well as DNA testing. The mother, "Juniper" is in the top 30% of all Golden Retrievers for her hips, and their father, "Scout", ranks in the top 20%. WHAT ALL OF THIS MEANS is that we have bred these puppies to have great longevity with whichever family they go to. In addition to extensive wellness testing, we began training these pups for their next loving home. We are progressively working on starter training which includes: leash manners, sit, stay, lay, taking treats gently, waiting to eat, and being able to take toys and treats away without any aggression. These girls have had their distemper/parvo series of puppy shots. They have their rabies vaccination along with certificate and tag. They are 10 months old (born January of 2021).
